With immediate effect, we have removed the requirement for climbers to use ropes and hitch cords which bear ‘ISC’ and/or ‘Part of Kit KT282’ labelling, in their PPE Regulation Kits. In order to remain complaint with the PPE Regulation certification, climbers must however continue to use ropes and hitch cords of the correct specification (manufacturer, brand, diameter and length), and must continue to tie their hitch cords in the correct configuration.
We have worked with the issuing CE Notified Body to make this update, in order to enable climbers to utilise cordage that they already own (without having to duplicate the purchase to obtain ISC/KT282-labelling) and/or to enable replacement ropes to be sourced from their choice of supplier.
Please see the Press Release Statement [right] for further information.
NOTE: Climbers should refer to the KT282 Rope Wrench PPE Regulation User Instructions for approved hardware and cordage combinations, and hitch configurations.
