Top end deluxe harnesses are getting lighter and lighter and one way of significantly reducing weight is to use aluminium hardware rather than steel hardware. Until now most hardware has either been specifically developed for a particular type of harness or manufacturers have been unable to make a light aluminium dee-ring that could withstand the appropriate loads – up to 5000lbs/23kN for ANSI requirements.
Having first brought the Klick-Lock buckles to market (see Whats Hot – March 2007) the first all-aluminium 4000lb/20kN quick release buckle, ISC is delighted now to launch a compatible component, its new all aluminium dee-ring suitable for fall arrest attachment points.
Made from 6066 aerospace grade aluminium, it is light – weighing only 70g/2.5oz – but super strong with a rated MBS of 25kN/5500lbs. |

Designed to accept the most popular 45mm/1¾” webbing it will suit most harness manufacturers. It has a wide internal radius to make clipping in easy with all types of karabiners or snaps and is available in a flat version (ideal for rear attachments) or cranked/bent version (ideal for waist work-positioning attachments).

As standard it will be available off the shelf in a matt black finish ideal for military and tactical harnesses and also for rigging harnesses for use in the theatrical industry. However we can offer a strip and re-anodise service for customisation in a range of colours for a small extra charge – contact us for further information.
