ISC is delighted to launch its new retractor to the industrial fall protection market. It meets or exceeds all the performance requirements laid down in the latest ANSI 07 Standards and when fitted with a shock absorber, those laid down in the latest CE EN362 Standards. A summary test report is available on request.

Few retractors available currently are designed specifically for fall protection. ISC has improved on current designs by modifying the mechanism to suit all the performance requirements of the latest Standards – including an all-metal reel, a strengthened pawl system, an improved mainspring and a strengthened body. Indeed we now believe that this is the best performing and strongest retractor of its type in the market perfectly suitable for fall arrest purposes. Even when tested using a 1.0m/3ft Fall Factor 2 (FF2) with 100kg/220lbs the device holds the load indicating that even if the device is used outside of its normal scope it should not fail catastrophically.

This version also incorporates a web guide to ensure that the webbing doesn't get twisted on the reel or caught up in the teeth of the mechanism. We have also strengthened the frame to take a bigger hole which will allow a greater variety of connectors to be used – up to 13mm/ ½” diameter. The retractors come complete with 2.5m/8.5ft webbing and weighs 770g/1 ¾ lbs.

As usual ISC offers plenty of flexibility and customisation. Our standard product will have black automotive webbing and a red PVC cover but colour options for the PVC cover are available on special order. To allow complete flexibility, this device is offered for sale without karabiners so that the customer can choose the connectors to suit – of course any of the ISC karabiners can be supplied for fitting if required
