ISC used the recent European and International Tree Climbing Championships to release its new colour scheme to market, in line with its new brand image and logo launched last year.

As part of an ongoing strategy to improve our image and brand awareness and constantly broaden our product range, we have taken the opportunity to release our new colour scheme for aluminium karabiners and bring some ‘bling' to the market. All polished, silver or black anodised karabiners will now only be available in graphite grey as standard. We will still offer the opportunity to customise karabiners by special order and we will still retain colour coding on barrels – gold for 2-way, red for 3-way supersafe and purple for 4-way quadlock etc. All black product for military and theatre rigging use will also still be available on special order.

This all follows the introduction of standard red on all pulley products and rope grabs last year.

You will also notice the phasing in of new markings on our karabiners in line with the latest EN standard which lays down strict criteria for those markings. The minimum requirements include – manufacturers ID, MBS in kN across major axis, year of manufacture, traceability reference, the CE mark and Notified Body number, the EN number complete with karabiner type. Other markings such as those for NFPA compliance will still be offered and the roll marking on the barrels will fall in line with new ANSI requirements shortly.
