ISC is pleased to announce the launch of a new hi-strength KH216 aluminium karabiner into its range. It has been developed to replace the KH209 offset D which will become obsolete in 2008.

Demand for a 30kN lightweight aluminium karabiner complete with captive pin has been high, particularly in North America where NFPA standards require a higher MBS than CE or ANSI requirements.

The karabiner shape is mid-way between an offset D and an HMS – both popular karabiners in the emergency services sectors, and it features a gate opening of 21mm - 7/8”. It is very light, weighing just 98g/3.45oz, but by using a special aluminium, the strength even with a captive pin, exceeds 30kN/6600lbs. This makes it fully NFPA ‘L' compliant.

The KH216 is available in two gate versions - either 2-way twist/auto-lock (gold colour barrel), or 3-way supersafe (red colour barrel).

The karabiner is available as standard in silver/gold or silver/red, but custom colour options are available. Laser etching is used for the markings which allow custom marking options such as company logos.
